Who regularly attends Connecticut Opera performances?

The core of Connecticut Opera’s main stage audience tends to be affluent, educated, and mature. A recent marketing survey of our audience, conducted by Boston-based Janet Bailey Associates, revealed the following facts:

• 31% of the audience has been subscribing for 10 years or longer, including one family that has been subscribing since opening night 1942;
• 40% of the audience has an annual household income of $100,000, or greater;
• 47% our audience is over age 65;
• Slightly more than 50% of all Connecticut Opera tickets are sold to season ticket holders;
• 99% of our audience says they are very satisfied or satisfied with our productions.
